Where the heck is Kosrae?2
And why should I go there?
You may want to go there because it is so very remote and so very pristine. It is truly a diver’s paradise.
Located 1400 miles Southeast of Guam and 2900 miles Southwest of Hawaii, it is the eastern most island of Micronesia. From the States, you fly United Airlines Island Hopper, with twice per week service from Honolulu.
There are more than 50 dive sites, all with reef-friendly permanent moorings. It’s remoteness leaves it with healthy hard corals, both large and small critters, including everything from sharks and dog tooth tuna to the tinniest nudibrach in warm waters with viz of 100 to 200 feet common.
